Marisa joined the HorsePower Board of Directors in 2018. Prior to that, she was the Director of Finance and Administration at HorsePower from 2008 - 2017. During the time she worked at HorsePower, she received her Associates Degree in Business Management from Dakota State University, and her Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of South Dakota. She is currently the Finance and Human Resources Manager at The Carroll Institute, in downtown Sioux Falls. A life-long lover of horses, and a decades-long supporter of non-profits, she is happy to lend her accounting and HR skills to HorsePower, now, as a board member. She presently serves as the Treasurer for the Sioux Empire Society for Human Resource Management as well. She and her family reside in the rural Garretson area, and farm in Miner County, South Dakota, as she is a 4th generation farmer as well!
